This is the official website of Canadian-Italian tenor Angelo Moretti. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Angelo’s natural vocal emission and stage presence led him to many opportunities and successes at a young age, notably winning the hit national TV Show, “The Next Star: Supergroup” with his pop band in 2014. His closeness with his Italian roots fueled his interest and passion for opera and the traditions that go along with it. He resonated with the art quickly and began pursuing it fiercely, especially after hearing the operatic greats on vinyl records and studying with soprano and former student of the late Lois Marshall, Cindy Townsend. Recent experiences include singing in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia as Lieutenant Thomas Selfridge in “The Bells of Baddeck”, a musical drama created by Lorna MacDonald and Dean Burry about the life and legacy of Alexander Graham and Mabel Bell, and making his professional operatic debut at the Opéra de Montréal as Ruiz in Verdi’s “Il Trovatore”...
